A hand-crank operated automaton inspired by the Norse world-serpent. When the handle is turned, and the segmented body swims along its wooden frame, causing the bells attached to the rod to jingle.
The serpent's segments are made of cardboard with papier-mâché layered on top. The majority of this piece is constructed from reclaimed and recycled materials, including torn pages, scrap fabric, bells, seed pods, twine.
